Earlier this year, we held our fourth #Keys4Needs program, which seeks to give back to a deserving member of our community by providing them with a new vehicle to meet their needs. Our 2018 #Keys4Needs recipient is Laura Sykes, who was nominated by her mother, Cheryl, as well as her cousin and two of her friends.
Laura is 24 years old and doesn’t let her disability get in the way of leading an exceptional life. In 2015, Laura was involved in a car accident that caused an injury to her spinal cord, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. When she recovered, she continued on her path unabated, attending North Central State College. To get there, Laura was reliant on a 20-plus-year-old van that wasn’t able to be properly modified to accommodate her needs.
Because we felt so strongly upon meeting Laura just how much going to school means to her, we named her the winner of a brand-new Dodge Caravan which will more reliably serve her transportation needs. Selecting just one winner from a group of so many deserving individuals and families in our 2018 #Keys4Needs program was certainly not an easy choice, and we remain truly humbled and blessed to have learned so much about such truly inspiring individuals.
Our #Keys4Needs program is just part of the difference we strive to make in our community. We do so not because we are trying to earn your business, but because we feel compelled by a higher calling. We look forward to sharing many more experiences with you and our community in 2019.
