After weeks of driving, numerous manufacturer events, and some in-depth evaluation, Cars.com recognizes the best new and significantly updated vehicles of the year. This year, the redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Impala beat five other nominees to win top honors as the Best Car of 2014.
“Winning just one of these awards for an automaker is pretty tough, given the high number of quality cars and trucks that debut each year,” said Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor-in-chief. “For Chevrolet to grab both [Best Car and Best Truck of 2014] awards shows the depth of their ability to build desirable vehicles.”
The 2014 Silverado also won for Best Truck of 2014.
Cars.com commended the Impala’s total package. Three engine options give drivers the performance they want without compromising fuel economy. The auto experts also appreciated the vehicle’s newly defined exterior and top-notch interior. The inclusion of the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system was like icing on the cake.
Overall, Cars.com acknowledged, “The improvement from the old Impala to this new 2014 model is astonishing, be we don’t grant this award for “most-improved” models. The Impala earned our praise as the Best Car for 2014 because it is unquestionably better than it needs to be.
It’s just the beginning of 2014. With awards like these early in the year, we at Bill Harris Auto Center are looking forward to see how the rest of the year unfolds.
