Earlier this week, Chevrolet announced its Purple Roads initiative to help the American Cancer Society raise money and awareness to help patients get to treatment through the Road to Recovery program. Purple is the official color of cancer survival and Chevy will donate $1 (up to $1 million) for every Facebook and Twitter user who changes their profile image to purple by World Cancer day on February 4, 2014.
“The Purple Roads initiative will drive awareness and support for the Road to Recovery program, which means more survivors,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, in a recent press release. “We hope at least 1 million people will help celebrate survivors and the people who support them by joining Chevrolet in the Purple Your Profile movement for World Cancer Day.”
Chevy and Chevy dealers throughout the country have partnered with the American Cancer Society for over 11 years. The brand has supported and helped in various ways including donating to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and other various aspects. Join Bill Harris Auto Center in supporting cancer survival and be sure to #PurpleYourProfile by February 4th!
