The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox debut took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show after it was unveiled back in September. Set to go on sale in early 2017, the 2018 Equinox has some new technology and a fresh look that it showed off at the LA Auto Show.
Chevy says it’s starting to grow its SUV/crossover business after strengthening its truck and car lineups. The refreshed 2018 Equinox has a leaner look that falls more in line with Chevy’s cars like the Cruze and Malibu. It comes with standard projector-beam headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and available LED tail-lamps.
The interior has new options like denim-style seating and flat-fold rear seating. It also features connectivity technologies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a host of available driver-assist technologies. These include Rear Seat Reminder, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Keep Assist.
The 2018 Equinox has three engine options, including a 1.5-liter turbo, a 2.0-liter turbo, and a 1.6-liter turbodiesel. This makes it Chevy’s first US vehicle with an engine lineup of exclusively turbocharged engines. 400 pounds lighter and with more cargo space plus an AWD system, it’s clear why the 2018 Equinox is the future of Chevy’s SUVs.
