Chevrolet made a huge announcement last week regarding the sale of its electric car, the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV. The automaker says that the model will go on sale in Maryland—the first state outside of California or Oregon to sell the car—this June.
Likely, the decision to start sales in Maryland is because of the GM plant in White Marsh, where both the 2015 Spark EV’s electric motor (which achieves 140 horsepower) and its drive unit are manufactured.
No news yet on when the 2015 Chevy Spark EV sales will expand to any more states, or where it will be available next. Hopefully, the beginning of sales in Maryland indicates the beginning of Spark EV sales around the country—likely sometime in 2015.
