The 2016 Chevrolet SS is getting new enhancements to increase its appeal to performance car shoppers, but this time, they’re all on the outside.
Last year, Chevrolet updated the SS with several performance upgrades but neglected one thing: people don’t always know that a car is exciting to drive if it doesn’t also look the part. The SS’s design has always erred toward the side of subtlety, but this time around Chevrolet has injected a bit more aggression into its appearance to let everyone know the SS really does mean business.
The changes to the new 2016 Chevrolet SS include revised front-end styling with new vertical ducts, which redirect airflow over the front wheel wells, as well as LED lighting and new functional hood vents that contribute to a tougher look.
There is one under-the-hood change we’re looking forward to at Bill Harris Auto Center, though: the new dual-mode exhaust. It makes the car quieter at low revs and snarlier at higher revs, which should elevate the SS’ sensory experience to even greater heights.
